Summary

Summary/Objective

 

The Director, Asset Management will play a crucial role in the optimization of Jera America’s asset portfolio. The role will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives to maximize revenue, manage risks, and enhance the overall profitability of our power generation assets.

•    Participate in the strategic decision-making process for the management of renewable and gas-fired power projects in which the Company has decided to invest or has invested as a representative of sponsors.
•    Participate in the discussion and negotiation process with stakeholders such as co-investors, power purchasers, EPC contractors, lenders, advisors, and third-party operator and asset managers.
•    Develop and track the annual budget and financial plan of select power generation assets in coordination with Plant Operations, Plant Finance and Commercial Operations.
•    Participate and be knowledgeable in the dynamic fuel and power markets, industry organizations, policy agendas, independent system operators, environmental regulations, and other regulatory proceedings.
•    Evaluate investments that enhance the competitiveness and efficient operation of the assets.
•    Maintain awareness of developing commercial, financial, regulatory, and operational issues that impact assigned projects.
•    Develop expert knowledge of project contracts to provide proper supervision of the contract obligations. 
•    Assist in building models, tools, process, and infrastructure that supports the organization's accuracy, efficiency and scalability.
•    Assist in onboarding new project on an as needed basis.
•    Develop and foster relationships with various departments while continually seeking opportunities to improve processes.
•    Lead any strategic initiatives for the projects, prepare and present to senior leadership.
•    Perform other various ad hoc tasks as required.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics or related field.  (Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Science or other quantitative field with business or finance experience is also suitable).
  • 10 or more years of asset management experience in the energy industry.
  • Database expertise (proficiency in Excel).

 

Preferred Education and Experience

 

  • MBA
  • Modeling project finance transactions in power generation sector.
  • Experience in PJM, NYISO, ISO-New England, MISO, ERCOT, and SPP
