Summary

This position is responsible for ensuring that all necessary 3rd party services and vessels are prepared to lift LNG cargos according to established lifting schedules.  The position will assist in the coordination of all marine operations associated with LNG Liftings activities across multiple 3rd parties and do so according to contractual agreements. The Position will participate as a member of the JERA Energy Americas LNG Operations team and work closely with the Energy Supply team to mitigate risks and identify opportunity.

LNG Exporting Business - Commercial Manager

  • Participate and assist the LNG team during the discussion and negotiation of annual delivery program (ADP) to ensure alignment of liftings and delivery windows.
  • Participate and assist to negotiate, and implement 3rd party contracts for marine services.
  • Liases with operational personnel of shipping team, assurance team, shipping agent, tug company, marine coordinator, internal ADP manager, commercial teams, and independent surveyors to efficiently schedule cargo movements, including timely vessel nomination, inspections, documentation, custom clearances, tug arrangements and ship/shore compatibility clearance.
  • Monitors vessel ETA, vessel notices and vessel arrival conditions to ensure compliance with agreements and regulations.
  • Selects and nominates Independent Surveyors at the relevant terminal where applicable.
  • Verifies and manages actual results of loading operations, 3rd party invoices and payments, and disseminates the information to proper individuals.
  • Collates and distributes cargo documentation from cargo surveyor to buyer.
  • Maintains detailed records of cargo loadings and calculates demurrage.
  • Ensure that all internal JERA systems are updated with timely and accurate information to facilitate tracking of adherence to contractual obligations, inventory tracking and invoicing.

  • Work closely and communicate well with JERA EA’s business partners related to Freeport LNG Project, especially other Customer at the same LNG facility.
  • Work closely and communicate well with other divisions to find the value adds for the company

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Finance.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in oil and gas (LNG industry experience not required)

Preferred Education and Experience

  • MBA or Law degree (min 1 year in a law firm or an in-house corporate legal environment).
  • Experience in facility operations and/or technical experience.
  • Prior leadership experience

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Strong strategic/financial analysis skills.
  • Advanced Excel and Business process modeling skills to apply solving business obstacles.
  • Excellent MS Office skills (Advanced Excel, Power Point, Word).
