Summary

Summary/Objective

 

The Senior Analyst, Settlements position is responsible for validation of invoices across the JERA Americas Business and through all commodities with the primary focus of this role being settlements related to JERA’s LNG business.  Based on resources and needs, assistance may be provided to the IPP and Renewables lines of business for recurring or project related tasks.  This role will work with the different groups to ensure we follow “Industry Standard” and “Single Source of Truth” reporting.

•    Validation of counterparty invoices
•    Creating counterparty invoices
•    Commodities:
o    Natural gas
o    Butane
o    Power
•    Must understand the trading life cycle
•    Compare energy manager/counterparty invoice to the shadow settlement produced by Risk, and work with Commercial/Risk to resolve any differences
•    Review and submit invoices for approval/payment.
•    Bilateral counterparty checkout
•    Monthly, quarterly and annual close activities including explanation of estimate to actual variances
•    Tracking prior period adjustments
•    Special projects including system enhancements and testing for the ETRM system and related technology
•    ISO knowledge:
o    ERCOT
o    NYISO 
o    PJM 
o    ISONE
o    MISO

  • Ability to manage and process large quantities of data
  • Working proficiency and knowledge in Excel, i.e. mining/manipulating data
  • Ability to identify weaknesses in controls and take initiative to assist in developing/maintaining strong internal controls.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with physical and financial settlements of commodities

 

Preferred Education and Additional Eligibility Qualifications

 

  • Advanced degree preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of LNG and/or wholesale power generation is a plus.
