Summary

Summary/Objective

 

The Senior Manager of Energy Supply is responsible for managing the upstream energy commodity operations for the business. This includes, but is not limited to, natural gas, natural gas liquids, and power for the LNG business unit (JERA Energy America).  The individual is responsible for monitoring forecasted and actual usage, maintaining accurate records of transactions, executing transactions and ensuring time sensitive tasks are completed by the Energy Supply Department.  This role also serves as a consultant for managers within the organization advising them of current market trends affecting commodity exposure.

Essential Functions

  • Direct the JERA EA asset managers regarding execution of natural gas purchase and sale transactions to optimize the portfolio of assets.
  • Maintain close contact with Freeport LNG Customer Service personnel to foster good working relationships and ensure contractual compliance.
  • Monitor, analyze and forecast all gas supply input costs for the Freeport LNG facility.
  • Validate the accuracy of physical/financial position reports and PNL daily.
  • Cooperate with Global LNG operations teams, to ensure efficient operations and maximization of facility output, while minimizing costs.
  • Work closely with Accounting and Risk teams to ensure a timely and accurate monthly settlement process.
  • Ensure the ETRM system properly reflects all gas transactions and flows.
  • Develop and maintain procurement models and supportive forecasting tools.
  • Assist in the contract negotiations, implementation, and management of, all energy supply, transportation, storage, asset management, or any other third-party contracts.
  • Initiate, develop and maintain on-going relationships with third parties.
  • Recommend energy supply hedging and business development strategies based on market intelligence and industry experience.
  • Create presentation materials in MS Power Point in support of Senior Management, and others as necessary.
  • Participate in the establishment of various internal protocols (workflow, manuals, IT system, EBB etc.) to balance energy supplies to LNG terminal.
  • Assist in any other matters as directed by management to benefit the organization.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

 

  • 7+ years of experience in physical and financial trading of natural gas
  • Expert level experience with physical/financial gas risk management products
  • Expert level Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
  • 7+ years of experience using gas management systems
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, engineering, or related fields

 

Preferred Education and Additional Eligibility Qualifications

 

  • Master’s Degree in business, finance, engineering, or related fields
  • Experience in LNG, Power, Crude Oil and NGL’s
  • Experience working with ETRM software
  • VBA or other programing experience
  • Strong mathematics and analytical skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills
