Summary

JERA Americas is a Houston-based subsidiary of Japanese global energy leader JERA Co, Inc. JERA is focused on developing zero and lower emission energy resources to achieve its mission of net zero CO2 emissions from its businesses by 2050 and is contributing to the development of a sustainable society. The United States is a key area of interest for the deployment of capital into clean energy infrastructure. Our current profile of investments includes:

  • Noncontrolling ownership interest in the natural gas liquefication project located in Freeport, Texas;
  • Noncontrolling ownership in natural gas-fired power generation plants in ERCOT, PJM, NYISO and ISO-NE;
  • Full ownership of a wind power generation development project in ERCOT; and
  • Contractual capacity rights to the liquefication capacity of the FLIQ1 LNG Terminal (Freeport)

Position Description

  • Assisting book closing and preparing accurate financial reports in a timely manner
  • Assisting the bank reconciliation in a timely manner
  • Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts
  • Assisting HQ consolidation process (the DIVA system entries)
  • Keep improving the book closing, and financial reporting process
  • Reviewing journal entries for intercompany invoices entered by AR team
  • Assisting with annual external EY and KPMG audit preparations and HQ internal audit.
  • Assisting with investigation and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance
  • Performing other accounting duties assigned by the manager and management

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Knowledge of the USGAAP
  • + 3years of GL accounting related work experience

 

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Licensed US CPA or equivalent
  • CPA firm experience
  • IPP and or partnership accounting and taxation

 

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Japanese skill is a plus but not required
